Iron & Wine - Variety Playhouse

Friday evening was spent at the Iron & Wine slash Calexico slash Salvador Durain event. It was indeed more than just a show. It was a long one, but it didn’t drag or begin to strain one’s patience likely due to diverse line-up.

I certainly gained a greater appreciation for Calexico and “In The Reins,” the Calexico and Iron & Wine recorded effort which I already owned but failed to listen to quite as much for no particular reason. I also choose to explore a couple of recent Calexico recordings. Feast Of Wire, their 2003 release, is something that I now regret missing when it came out originally.
