Hamas winning a majority over the Palestinian Authority could not only endanger the current state of the region, it could serve to derail all the progress made thus far, however small that may be.
I get deeply saddened by the ongoings of this region, but I don’t have any origin or relationship to it. I just know that the people, distilled to some point, are the same. They want the same things for themselves and their children. That can actually be said universally, but still we somehow allow a smaller faction of people to lead the charge using their own ulterior motives
Ariel Sharon is a non-factor these days. He should have been tried for war crimes for the 1982 Beirut massacres. I’m not saying that he’s guilty, but there seems to be enough evidence to warrant a trial. Plenty of people supposedly acting on behalf of the Palestinian people should also be tried and jailed.
Innately, I fimly beliee that both the Israelis and Palestinians need young voices. I think you people understand that violence begets violence. They’ll never solve the seemingly infinite conundrum by leaving things in the hands of those who have other motives. An uprising by the common people, but not an action to arm themselves, is required.
They want peace.
