LoudSpeakers At InternmentCamp #029

by Raj on October 22, 2006

Sorry for the radio silence — again.  My startup has kept me quite busy lately.

I had fun putting this one together.  The most recent record by The Thermals has been in constant rotation at BigSwerve HQ over the past couple of months.  The Lambchop record, “Damaged,” is easily in my top 5 records of 2006.  If the goal of every musician is to release “timeless records,” Lambchop easily reaches that objective with this release.  It will sound as beautiful 10 years from now as it does today.  There are some jaw dropping moments of beauty on “Damaged.”

The Sublime Frequencies record entitled “Leaf Music, Drunks, Distant Drums” helped me to connect the songs this time.

  1. The Thermals – Time To Lose
  2. The Thermals – Back To Gray
  3. The Thermals – St. Rosa and The Swallows
  4. The Thermals – An Ear for Baby
  5. Peter Bjorn and John – Detects On My Affection
  6. Peter Bjorn and John – Lat’s Call It Off
  7. Meat Puppets – Plateau
  8. Damien Jurado – Denton, TX.
  9. Lambchop – Prepared [2]
  10. Labmchop – The Rise and Fall Of The Letter P
  11. Portastatic – Song For A Clock

Thank god for #29.

How am I going to do my startup if you’re too busy doing your startup to regular podcasts. Loudspeakers podcasts are our creative sauce. :)
