I spent the last 5 days in Delhi before leaving for the States. The heat was brutal — a noticeable difference compared to Pune, but it somehow became secondary when I realized my purpose. That has been a general theme throughout my trip: sacrifice for the mission at hand, target the next [...]

The New Orleans Mayoral fight will be an interesting race to watch. Nagin faces 22 opponents and near complete opposition from the Caucasians that once voted for him, but new found support from African-Americans that once opposed him.

Sometimes small things just bug the shit of out me. One of those things that drives me mad is the pronunciation of Iraq by my fellow Americans. If we’re going to invade a country the least we can do is pronounce it properly.
Wrong pronunciation: “I rack”
Wrong pronunciation: “I rock”
Correct pronunciation: [...]

South Dakota has just created a huge waste of time and money by signing a bill that bans virtually all abortions. Regardless of your opinion on the subject, this does not help the anti-abortion lobby politically speaking. Precedence is hard for a court to ignore.

I’m convinced that technology and the internet will be China’s Achilles’ heel. They won’t be able to continue the level of censorship without slowly ceding to the opinions of the people. The incident recently regarding Li Datong and his criticism of the regime and the result is one example.
I can’t wait until it [...]

I have Jew envy. Seriously. I have always admired Jewish people for more reasons than one. I don’t really have an overwhelming number of Jewish friends, but I have found myself in the company of Jewish people everywhere my entire life somehow.
Call me an armchair sociologist, but I love to [...]

Wiley getting upset at Calacanis for use of the “For Dummies” tag is so comical that I think I’m going to create an entirely new Wordpress category without their trademark attribution. Because I can.
One might actually think that Wiley would feel complimented that Jason would choose to use “For Dummies” in one [...]

I have ignored her primarily because she is such a fucking joke. But her recent comments are insensitive and work against everything we as Americans want to represent to the outside world.
Coulter on Muslims:
“I think our motto should be post-9-11, ‘raghead talks tough, raghead faces consequences.’” (This declaration prompted a boisterous ovation.)

I’m not referring to the XmlHttpRequest object that is the special sauce behind the new age of code-heavy clients like Gmail and Google Maps. AJAX, in reference to development, is all about a smoother browser interaction and transparency for the user. It’s a broker of sorts that makes page transitions more seamless. [...]

I’m excited about all the new companies that are popping up that allow for analog user-generated content publishing. In other words, I can publish whatever the hell I want to in book, calendar, or poster form.
I tried QOOP recently and was_severely_underwhelmed with the overall print quality of the pictures. I used [...]

A few weeks ago, I blogged about the Gates Foundation and how they will save 8 million lives this year alone with their crusade. I had dinner this past weekend with some very smart people and I mentioned that I wanted to do something proportionate to what Gates does with his fortune when I [...]

Full disclosure: my Indian heritage simultaneously contributes to heartache and rage.
I can’t help but be pissed. Another Indian friend of mine recently told me that he would “rather be black,” making a reference to the institutional racism and the affect on African-Americans compared to the “heightened awareness” and “vigilence” we are [...]

It’s a hard thing to think about, isn’t it? Hamas is now in power because the people want them there. We should give them a chance. The PLO at one point was as radical as Hamas is today. Abbas is practically a walking joke. He’s taking the Palestinian cause nowhere [...]

I was going to send this link to a particular friend who is getting a start in the world of programming, but I thought I would share it with the rest of my del.icio.us challenged friends who also might have an interest.
Web page refreshes suck ass(tm). Ajax is here to help.

I don’t fully understand everything Umair has to say about, well, most things, but I can fully understand and appreciate his response to Michelle Malkin’s post recently regarding Ray Nagin and his comments about New Orleans.
Here’s what Umair had to say:
when the [...]
